Friday 26th of September, 2008 it happened: the winners of the 100.000 euro competition were announced after four busy months and three jury intensive jury rounds. Nulaz was the big winner with 60.000 euros, followed by TipSpot with 30.000 euros and MapTheGap with 10.000 euros. Nulaz is an advanced LBS social networking application with reviews and ratings. TipSpot is a mobile social city guide for events in your neighbourhood. MapTheGap is a highly innovative mobile application for location-based idea management and sharing. Congratulations to all winners! A job well done.
On Friday morning we hit it off with powerful presentations by the six Vodafone Mobile Clicks finalists: TipSpot, Nulaz, MapTheGap, MobyPicture, Exphera and Mi-i. Additionally, we had a great keynote speaker: Rudy de Waele (founder Mobile Monday Barcelona and Madrid as well as the Mobile 2.0 Europe events). Rudy talked about 8 very successful mobile start-ups throughout the world.
In the evening, we had our long-awaited special award ceremony. Lots of excitement among the six contestants while 250 visitors were enjoying the show, food and drinks. The video edit by Marloes Veldhuizen gave a good impression of the last four months. Finally, the CEO of Vodafone – Guy Laurence – announced the three winners.
