A total of 1559,99 euro has been collected by the MoMo community for the Dutch Cancer Society. We are touched by the motivations of the people who bid on the special tickets. One of the auctioned tickets was won by a group of people from the United States who would not attend the event. Both the auction and donations by members of the community have been welcomed by the KWF. Mobile Monday Amsterdam and the KWF would like thank the following people for their kind donations to the KWF:
(and of course everybody else who donated at the event!)
Do you want to donate to the KWF too? KWF is collecting this week throughout the whole country, or donate directly via their website. You can donate online by going to their website.
The photos of Mobile Monday #7 are online! Check out the selected images in the slideshow, or visit the extended Flickr set with more images. Photos were kindly provided by Ralph Lemarechal (above) and Marco Ophof (below).

Theme: Mobile Value
Location: Rode hoed, Keizersgracht 102 Amsterdam
Date: September 1st 2008
Time: 15:00 till 19:00 (ex ‘borrel’)SOLD OUT: NO RSVP, NO ENTRY. Bid for one of the 10 special tickets. The auction ends Friday September 29th, 12:00. Read more about the special tickets.
Mobile Monday wouldn’t be possible without the help of WebAds, Vodafone, Mobillion, NedStat, the snacks and drinks are provided by respectively NEWPEOPLE and Belysio, and time and effort by SPRXmobile and 31Volts. Thanks for making this event possible!
A total of €1.510,- is collected with the auction. Bidding is now closed, but feel free to make a donation during the event.
As some of you might know Maarten Lens-FitzGereld (aka. @dutchcowboy), our dear friend and founding member of Mobile Monday Amsterdam, is fighting a battle against cancer. Maarten has done amazing work for Mobile Monday and now we want to do something in return.
As you all know tickets for Mobile Monday #7 are harder to come by these days then that phone Apple released some time ago. The first 300 tickets sold out in under 12 hours and the 80 extra ticket we released yesterday were gone within 24 minutes!
So this is the plan:
We’re going to auction 10 exclusive tickets for Mobile Monday #7 on marktplaats.nl. A ticket grants you entrance to the event with a special treatment. At this moment we won’t reveal the treatment other than that you can be sure that people will know who you are after the event.
Now the most important part: We donate the revenue from these 10 tickets to the KWF Kankerbestrijding.
[UPDATE: The auction has closed]The auction has started as of today an ends on Friday 29th of August 12:00 o’clock!
You can place a bid on the tickets on a personal title, but we also want to encourage groups to place a bid. So: if you have a cool company, hvyes group, twitterclan, join up together and place a bid.
By winning one of the auctioned tickets, you are not only granting yourself access to a MoMo event which sold out faster than ever before, you also support a good cause which we think is the most important thing!
Best regards,
Mobile Monday Amsterdam
PS. Maarten has finished his last chemo treatment and is recovering now. He is doing relatively good at this moment. Please have a look on his blog and give him a shout when you feel like doing so!
PS. During the event you can make a donation to the KWF. So in case you already have an RSVP and don’t feel like making a bid on the special tickets, but still want to donate: please bring some change to the event.

During the event we will discuss topics like business models, analytics, and user experience and usability. At this moment we are waiting for the last confirmations. Stay tuned for further updates on the program in the time to come. At this moment we have received confirmations from:

Just like the previous events we will use a backchannel during our next MoMo. The backchannel will enable you to interact with each other, contribute to the conversation with your expertise or opinion, or ask questions about what is said. To make sure the backchannel is used as an addition to everybody’s event experience this post will mention some basic backchannel ethics.
Most of all these are just common sense, none of these are carved in stone. They are here to make sure that a backchannel enriches your event experience, so please think about the following when you use the backchannel:
So make sure you have your batteries charged (bring spares) and join the conversation next week!
Do you feel silly because you don’t know what a backchannel is? Don’t! Learn more about the backchannel.
