New MoMo Team Member

We are proud to announce a new addition to the MoMo Team: Sam. For the next half year he will be part of the team and help to further improve Mobile Monday. Here is a short introduction in his words:

Hi, my name is Sam Warnaars, 26 years of age and a Communication student at the University of Twente. The coming six months I will be joining the MoMo team as a team-member. I will help the team with the work behind the scenes. While working at Mobile Monday I will also conduct a research for my Master thesis. It is great to be part of the MoMo team and work along the sides of a community which is ahead of the curve. I am looking forward to meet you on the next MoMo (March 31). MoMo Mobile Event Center launched

Amsterdam, Monday March 17th. Today we officially launch our beta version of the Mobile Event Center, our new service enabling easy registration, name badge creation and QR-coded access to our events. All accessible via the mobile browser. Go with your mobile browser to m.mobilemonday.nl/center and experience it yourself.

It is of course a perpetual beta. Help us and your fellow mobilista make it better, place your feedback in the comments of this post.

Change RSVPThe Mobile Event Center is integrated with our Meetup registration system. Basic event information such as start times, address and map is provided.

Also, the Mobile Event Center gives you the possibility to continuously change your RSVP. And you can see how many people are coming.

Prepare your Name Badge

On m.mobilemonday.nl/center you can fill in your contact details which will be printed on your name badge. You can add details (like phone number, email and company name) to your profile which will be placed in the form of a vCard in a QR code on your badge. This gives participants the possibility to add your contact details to their phone’s contacts by scanning your QR code on your name badge.

Mobile Entry Ticket
To Access future MoMo events you need an mobile entry ticket. Download your ticket at the Mobile Event Center, or bookmark the link. Your Mobile ticket includes a QR code. The QR code contains the your unique ID and the event’s unique ID. By using the QR code, event organizers are able to track event attendance come more accurately and efficiently.

When you arrive at the event, please do the following:
1 Display the Mobile Ticket image on your phone screen, or present the paper printout.
2 An event organizer will scan your mobile ticket image/printout.

3 Your event attendance will be recorded by MoMo.
4 A pre-printed name badge with your unique v-CARD QR code will be issued to you.

Members Directory
At the Mobile Event Center you can also find a directory of all MoMo members and their details. You can search through this directory and find the people you would like to contact during one of our events.

Jan Smits, Technische Universiteit Eindhoven
Jan Smits (1953) holds a chair on Law & Technology at TU/e in the departement of Technical Innovation Sciences. His research is aimed at understanding the relationship between technology and policies, standards and regulation. His focus is on technological phenomenae notably in the area of IT and telecommunication. He is also co-founder and director of 2knowit a firm that strategically advises both governments and firms.

Ton Wesseling, Senior Internet Strategist
Ton Wesseling (1974) is a Dutch internet consultant, blogger, speaker, teacher and coach with a focus on internet strategy, online presence and web intelligence. As a self employed consultant he works for companys like SNS Bank and Ilse Media and he is a board member at the Interactive Advertising Bureau Netherlands. Marcel Wendt, Founder, Surprise Mobile Startup
Marcel Wendt (1963), Founder of Golden Bytes International BV in 1999, the leading SMS technology provider in the Benelux and UK. Alldata, a 100% subsidiary, specializes in conceptual and realizing technical solutions in the field of games, elections, events, narrowcasting and call entertainment. Created together with the founders of the Internet cheque (WWW-BON) in 2001 the first Dutch pre-paid wallet SMS-XS. Nowadays co-founder of a new mobile payment startup.

Igor Hendriksen, New Media & Broadcasting Payter
Igor spent the past eight years in the international mobile telecoms space. In several roles, varying from business consultant to business developer and sales manager, his focus has always been on value added services towards the consumer market. In 2007, Igor joined Payter, the Dutch company focussing on mobile transactioning through the use of the NFC protocol (Near Field Communication). In his role as director for Payter’s New Media & Broadcasting division, his mission is to build an NFC mobile marketing company based on the foundations of Payter.

Dan Armstrong, CTO, Rabo Mobiel B.V.
Mr. Armstrong was one of the founders of Rabo Mobiel, and has been working on the project since mid-2005. Currently he serves on the board of directors as Chief Technology Officer, responsible for products, telecommunications, banking and mobile financial services products, NFC, innovation and technology strategy. Prior to Rabo Mobiel, Mr. Armstrong has worked for Telfort, British Telecom, MCI, Netscape and was owner of Takashi Mobile, an international consultancy working since 1999 on MVNOs in Europe, Asia and North America.

Heb jij het beste mobiele concept van 2007?

MoMo en SpinAwards (www.spinawards.nl) werken samen voor de verkiezing van het Beste Mobiele Concept van 2007.

Op 3 april 2008 worden voor de 10de keer de SpinAwards uitgereikt: de belangrijkste jaarprijzen op het gebied van digitale media, creativiteit en interactiviteit. MoMo speelt een belangrijke rol in de categorie Beste mobiele concept. In het verleden werden er namelijk regelmatig te weinig mobiele concepten aangedragen, met als gevolg dat deze categorie bij de SpinAwards geen representatief beeld gaf van wat er op dit gebied gemaakt werd in Nederland. MoMo is naar onze mening met 940 leden groot en levend genoeg om hierin een constructieve rol te spelen. Dit past ook bij onze hoofddoelstelling om de mobiele internet sector in Nederland te stimuleren. We willen daarom Nederland en het buitenland laten zien, wat er allemaal op mobiel gebied in Nederland wordt gemaakt.

Onder de SpinAward categorie “beste mobiele concept” vallen alle nederlandse concepten die direct te maken hebben met de inzet van een mobiel apparaat (mobiele telefoon, smart phone, PDA, tablet). Het gaat hier met nadruk om werk waarin een mobiele toepassing de hoofdrol speelt. Dus een SMS campagne binnen een grote crossmediale campagne komt niet in aanmerking voor deze award.

De Stichting SpinAwards werkt met een jury-model. Aangezien er twee mensen (Yuri van Geest en Raimo van der Klein) van MoMo in de zes-koppige jury zitten, is onafhankelijkheid en inhoudelijke objectiviteit vanuit MoMo meer dan geborgd.

Hoe kunnen jullie hierin een bijdrage leveren ?
Wij zoeken 20 spraakmakende en succesvolle cases op mobiel. Ben je geinteresseerd in deelname, stuur dan voor donderdagmiddag 14 februari 16.00 uur een aanvraag naar awards@mobilista.nl met de volgende informatie:

  • Naam bureau of bedrijf
  • Naam opdrachtgever (mits van toepassing)
  • Naam concept/campagne
  • Contactgegevens (email en telefoonnummer)
  • Hele korte omschrijving case (1 alinea is genoeg, de daadwerkelijke inzending biedt meer ruimte)

De twintig aanvragen worden door MoMo gesponsord en hoeven zodoende geen inschrijfgelden te betalen. Aanvragen worden in volgorde van binnenkomst gehonoreerd. Behoor je tot de twintig gelukkigen, dan ontvang je donderdag rond 18.00 uur een bevestigingsmail met instructies voor de daadwerkelijke inzending. Doe dat voor vrijdag middernacht, want dan ding je mee voor een SpinAward!

Wij denken dat dit niet veel tijd kost zodat de strakke planning kan worden gehaald. Alle ingezonden mobiele concepten worden bovendien volgende week vermeld op mobilemonday.nl (feedback van jullie is zeer welkom).

Wat hebben jullie hieraan?
Het verleden van SpinAwards heeft duidelijk aangetoond dat winnaars van SpinAwards daar nationaal en internationaal op allerhande manieren de vruchten van plukken. De uitreiking vind plaats op groot feest op 3 April waarbij de top van de digitale en creatieve industrie bij elkaar komt.

Wat betekent dit voor de andere MoMo Awards zoals aangekondig?
Binnen de SpinAwards is er door de brede cross digimediale opzet geen tijd om de resterende mobiele awards onder de aandacht te brengen. Deze resterende awards (beste mobiele website, beste mobiele campagne, beste mobiele bedrijf, mobiele persoon van het jaar, meest overbodige mobiele feature en beste mobiele start-up) zullen wij vanuit MoMo op een later tijdstip samen met jullie invullen en bovenal beoordelen. Samen, met zijn allen.

Kortom, wij verzoeken jullie om voor donderdagmiddag a.s voor 16 uur jullie meest succesvolle en spraakmakende mobiele concept naar awards@mobilista.nl te sturen. Alvast hartelijk dank voor jullie tijd, commitment en bijdrage!
